Acces and Technical Requirements


Q: What browsers do you recommend?
A: The NIL site was designed to work on the following browsers:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher
  • Firefox 2.0 or higher
  • Earlier versions of Firefox and Internet Explorer, along with other popular browsers, are not officially supported, and may not work correctly.

To fully experience our site, you should:
  • set monitor resolution at 1024 x 768 or higher
  • set monitor to 256 colors or higher
  • enable Java
  • enable cookies
  • enable images
  • download Adobe Acrobat to view PDF files

Training and Certifications


Q: Does NIL offers learning products for other networking vendors (than Cisco)?
A: No. Currently, NIL is entirely Cisco oriented.

Q: What technology areas do you cover?
A: Access Networking, Core Networking, IP Protocols, IP Routing, IP Services, IP Telephony, LAN Technologies, Network Design, Network Management, Network Security, Optical Networking, Virtual Private Networks, Voice Communications, WAN Technologies, Wireless Communications...

Q: What certification levels do you cover?
A: Although we can provide basic courses, we are specialized in higher certification levels (CCIP, CCIE) and specializations.

Q: What types of training (what delivery methods) do you offer?
A: Traditional classroom courses, virtual classroom (live internet) courses and remote labs.

Q: Do you offer customized courses?
A: Sure. Course design and customization is important part of our business.

Q: Can you mix different delivery methods?
A: Yes. Methods can be mixed even within a single course. For example, there could be a 5-days traditional classroom course accompanied by remote lab exercises and followed up 6 months later by a 1-day virtual classroom update.

Q: For customized courses, can you mix non-Cisco with Cisco material?
A: Assuming that we can provide necessary non-Cisco expertise, yes. For all non-Cisco topics, we have to deal with each request individually to make sure we can deliver.

Q: Which platform do you use for distance (DILT, virtual classroom, live internet) courses?
A: We use Placeware (www.placeware.com) or WebEx (www.webex.com).

Q: Do we have to purchase seats from Placeware or WebEx or pay licences to them?
A: No. All this is managed by NIL and all such costs are covered with the course price.

Q: Are there any other costs associated with live internet courses?
A: Yes, the phone call. The voice part of the session is conducted over telephone conference call and not over the internet. Your call will be billed to you just as any other regular phone call, according to your telephone company tarifs.

Q: For on-site training, do we have to have our equipment for laboratory exercises?
A: In most cases no. Majority of topics are covered with RealLabs, our remote laboratory exercises.

Q: Are any of your RealLabs simulated?
A: No, they are all run on real Cisco equipment.

Q: I’m interested in attending one of your scheduled course offerings. How can I register?
A: If you're interested in attending one of our offerings and schedule and register using any one of the following means:

  • Through the WEB via our course schedule and shopping cart tool; you may pay either by credit card or request alternative payment methods.
  • By fax – as above; just before the checkout you can print the page and fax it to +386 1 4746 501
  • By email – send us an email specifying the desired course and date to training-request@nil.com

Q: What is the course registration deadline?
A: Please register at least 15 working days prior to the course start date. All successful registrations are confirmed by email the same or the next business day.

Q: What is your course cancellation policy?
A: Confirmed registrants may cancel their attendance at a specific course up to 15 working days in advance of the scheduled course date without penalty. Cancellations made within 6 to 15 days before the scheduled course start date will be liable for 30% of the course fee. Cancellations made within 5 working days of the start of the registered course or in the case of a "no-show", will be liable for the full cost of the course.

All cancellations must be confirmed in writing with the Enrolment Coordinator. Enrolment Coordinator contact information is stated in the course confirmation email message. This contact must be used for all correspondence relating to the cancellation.

Q: Do you allow attendee substitutions?
A: Attendee substitutions are allowed only prior to the course beginning.

Q: Will I receive a course completion certificate?
A: You will receive a course completion certificate if you have successfully completed one of our Classroom or Virtual Classroom trainings. You should receive your course completion certificate a few weeks after completing the training.

User Registration


Q: How do I obtain an NIL log-in account?
A: Follow these steps:

  1. From NIL home page, click on the Register button on the upper left corner.
  2. On the registration page, enter the required data. Click Submit.
  3. On the Complete Registration page, you will be directed to your email account to activate your registration with NIL.
  4. The final step in the registration process is the e-mail validation. Please check the e-mail account which you entered upon registration for an e-mail from NIL with the subject “NIL Registration: Confirm your registration”. Click on the URL, or cut-and-paste it into a browser address window.
  5. Upon activating your account, you will view the Successful Registration page.
  6. You will receive an NIL Registration Confirmation email with your username and password.
  7. You can now login to NIL with your username and password.

Q: I have registered with NIL but I cannot log-in. What should I do?
A:
  1. Do you have an account, which you haven’t used for an extended period of time? If so, please contact registration@nil.com to reactivate your existing account.
  2. Have you recently registered with NIL and have not yet activated your account? If so, please refer to an email with the subject “NIL Registration: Confirm your registration” to obtain the URL required to activate your account.
  3. Have you misplaced or forgotten your password? If so, please contact registration@nil.com and you will receive a reply with a new password.

Q: What can I do if I forget or misplace my NIL username or password?
A: If you forget or misplace your username or password, please contact registration@nil.com and you will receive a reply with a new password.

Q: I can’t find the application I’m looking for. Where is it?
A: Make sure you have logged in. Some applications are only available to NIL registered users, so the links will not be visible until you have logged in.

Payments and Transactions


Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: Payment methods we accept are:

  • Credit cards: American Express, Visa, MasterCard and Diner's Club
  • You can safely enter your entire credit card number via our secure server, which encrypts all submitted information.
  • Company Purchase Orders
  • Purchase orders are accepted only from contract customers and are subject to terms of specific contracts.
  • Pro-forma Invoice
  • For payments based on pro-forma invoice the payment should be done to the bank account indicated on the pro-forma invoice. The payment should be received by NIL prior to the course beginning or as stated on the pro-forma invoice.

When your payment is registered, you will get a purchase confirmation and additional details via e-mail.

Q: I received the NIL Promotion Code. How can I use it?
A: Simply enter your Promotion Code on the first order page of the NIL Shopping Cart and complete the on-line purchasing via shopping cart tool. The Promotion Code will reduce the list price of the appropriate products accordingly.

You can verify that a promotional code was successfully applied when you receive NIL e-mail confirmation of your order.

Information about Promotion Codes:
  • Promotion Codes can be used only at the time you place an order for appropriate products through NIL web site.
  • Promotion Codes are not redeemable for cash.
  • Each Promotion Code can be used only once.
  • We are not responsible for lost or stolen Promotion Codes.
